Who We Are

The Florida Comets stands out as a leading youth basketball organization committed to fostering athletic growth. Since our founding, we've dedicated ourselves to empowering young minds through rigorous training, collaborative teamwork, and dedicated mentorship. Our all-encompassing program equips players with the skills essential for advancement, emphasizing lessons that transcend the basketball court.


As a nonprofit enhancement organization, Florida Comets aims to deliver a variety of services to the community. Each initiative is tailored to address specific needs within the community. We equip every student for success by offering an innovative and thorough extracurricular program. BSN Post Game Interview

The Space Coast Lady Vipers got off to the programs second ever 5-1 start and first since 2006 with an impressive win over Rockledge on Monday night. Space Coast fell to New Smyrna Beach on Tuesday night but will look to rebound tonight at home against Pineapple Cove. Following the game on Monday, BSN spoke with Lady vipers head coach, Dr. Bennie Shaw about his teams performance through six games.

Shooting Comets

Since its creation, the Florida Comets have been one of South Florida’s premier youth basketball organizations. Last year, our 7th Grade girls team played in 15 tournaments amassing 12 first-place finishes including a YBOA and USSSA National Championship.

    The Florida Comets prepare each student to excel by providing an innovative and comprehensive extra-curricular activity program. Through the involvement of athletes, parents, staff, and the community each student will develop skills necessary to exceed general expectations by graduating high school, completing a higher education program, and becoming a productive individual in today’s changing society.


    This program will affect a large number of disadvantaged students that are in desperate need of a structured after-school environment, intensive academic support, and guidance outside of the school day. The Florida Comets will be allowed to accept more disadvantaged https://www.superpages.com/titusville-fl/basketball-clubs working below grade level and develop them into successful student/athletes. The Florida Comets will be able to fund more student/athletes with various fundraising projects and address our mission of using basketball to help student/athletes develop a more positive mindset about learning, a more positive vision for their future, and the ability to break the cycle for future generations

    Competitive Basketball –

    • 8 teams (4 girls + 4 boys’ teams)

    • 3 “Elite Teams” 

    • Total of 160

    – Travel Arts and Culture –

    • Elite teams traveling across the 

    country

    • Visiting and experience cultures 

    through museums, colleges, historical 

    sites, etc.

    – Work Experience

    • Players are assigned jobs and assist in 

    operations and fund raising

    • Complete employment workshop and 

    schedule interviews.
